It looks like Dead & Company fans who were planning to perform in the sand in Cancun, Mexico this month will have to make other plans as the group has ended the holiday music festival.
The sold-out event was scheduled to take place in Riviera Cancun this weekend, Jan. 7, 9, and 10, as well as 13, 15, and 16, but the group was forced to cancel the festival due to ‘cases peaks of Covid â.
Dead & Company broke the bad news to fans in a series of tweets. They wrote: “With great sadness and after great consideration of all possible scenarios, the PlayTheSand shows in Riviera Cancun on January 7-10 and January 13-16 have now been canceled by CID_Presents due to soaring cases of COVID-19.
“Dead & Company and CID_Presents have tried everything to bring normality back and deliver a great experience and amazing music, but with each day it has become more and more clear that canceling is the right thing to do for fans and for our team
“Please refer to the Playing in the Sand email which will be sent shortly with full details on refunds. See you soon, hug your loved ones, stay safe and be kind.”
